Become an STTQ Training Centre Delivering our Qualification

Practical, hands-on clinical skills are at the heart of all STTQ qualifications. For this reason, we work primarily with experienced therapists who have substantial clinical expertise and a genuine passion for developing the next generation of practitioners.

Most STTQ-approved training centres are independent private training providers run by practising therapists rather than mainstream educational institutions. This allows learners to benefit from real-world clinical experience and practical skills training that is directly relevant to professional practice.

A Flexible Training Model

Our qualifications are particularly attractive to adult learners who are changing careers, developing existing skills, or seeking a rewarding new profession. Most learners cannot attend full-time education and require a flexible training pathway.

To meet these needs, STTQ training centres focus on delivering practical clinical skills through face-to-face workshops, typically held at weekends. The underpinning theoretical knowledge is delivered and assessed through STTQ's online coursework programme.

This means training centres do not need to create, administer, or mark written assignments. STTQ manages all online coursework, assessment marking, moderation, learner support, certification, and quality assurance, allowing centres to concentrate on delivering excellent practical training.

Exclusion Zones

We aim to ensure that all STTQ training centres are both educationally and commercially successful.

To help achieve this, we operate exclusion zones around approved centres, reducing direct competition between nearby providers and helping each centre develop a sustainable learner base within its region.

STTQ Charges

Application Process – From £250
The application fee varies according to the level of support required and includes:

  • Tutor training
  • Administration system training
  • Site visit
  • Guidance and support throughout the approval process

Course Fees

Level 4 Sport and Remedial Clinical Massage
£150 per learner
Minimum 10 learners per course

Level 5 Soft Tissue Therapy Upgrade
£100 per learner
No minimum learner numbers

Learners receive student membership of the Institute of Sport and Remedial Massage (ISRM) for the duration of their training, providing:

  • Access to an online forum connecting students and therapists
  • Job opportunities
  • Sports event work experience opportunities
  • Access to STTQ's extensive online video library
